Keywords:
Smart Cities, Internet of Things (IoT), Urban Planning, Information SystemsAbstract
The emergence of Smart Cities represents the convergence of urban planning and technology, enabled by the Internet of Things (IoT) and information systems. This paper examines the integration of IoT in urban planning, focusing on the role of data-driven insights to optimize city management and improve citizens' quality of life. Key technologies such as sensor networks, real-time data analytics, and automation are explored, along with challenges such as data privacy, security, and system interoperability. The paper outlines how Smart Cities leverage these technologies to promote sustainability, energy efficiency, and effective governance. The research delves into how IoT infrastructure can support urban infrastructure management, traffic systems, environmental monitoring, and smart healthcare solutions.
