Archiving Policy
1. Purpose of Archiving
The archiving policy of Multidisciplinary Research in Computing Information Systems (MRCIS) ensures the long-term preservation and accessibility of all published content. We are committed to maintaining the integrity and availability of scholarly records for future generations of researchers, educators, and practitioners.
2. Digital Preservation
To guarantee persistent access to the published articles, MRCIS adopts the following digital archiving strategies:
-
LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): MRCIS participates in the LOCKSS program to preserve content in decentralized and distributed archives.
-
CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS): The journal also utilizes the CLOCKSS archive for secure, long-term preservation.
-
Institutional Repositories: Authors are encouraged to deposit the final published version of their articles in their institutional or subject-based repositories.
3. Self-Archiving Policy (Green Open Access)
MRCIS permits authors to self-archive the following versions of their manuscript:
-
Pre-print: Authors may archive the submitted version of their manuscript (before peer review) on preprint servers.
-
Post-print: Authors may archive the accepted version of their manuscript (after peer review, before final typesetting).
-
Published Version (Version of Record): Authors are allowed to share the final published version on personal websites, institutional repositories, and scholarly platforms, provided proper citation to the original publication in MRCIS is maintained.
4. Permanent Access and Availability
All content published in MRCIS will remain permanently accessible on the journal’s official website. In the event the journal is no longer published, the full archive will be transferred to a suitable digital repository or preservation service.
5. Metadata Archiving
MRCIS ensures that article metadata is indexed and archived in various international databases and digital libraries such as CrossRef, Google Scholar, and DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) to facilitate discoverability and citation.
6. Article Retraction and Removal
In rare cases where content needs to be retracted or removed due to legal or ethical issues, a retraction notice or explanation will be provided, and the metadata will remain accessible to maintain the scholarly record.
