In recent years, the demand for secure and reliable authentication systems has increased significantly due to the rise in cybercrime and identity theft. Multimodal biometric systems, which utilize multiple biometric traits such as fingerprints, facial recognition, voice patterns, and iris scans, offer a promising solution for enhancing security while maintaining privacy and usability. This paper explores the combination of these biometric modalities, focusing on how they contribute to improving security, privacy, and user experience. We analyze the strengths and limitations of different modalities and present an integrated framework for a multimodal biometric system. Furthermore, we discuss the challenges associated with ensuring robust security without compromising user privacy, as well as the importance of designing systems that are both secure and user-friendly. The paper concludes with a comprehensive review of the current advancements in the field and future directions for research.
